Have a look at the new section I've added for the Photography Boot Camp (it's on the main menu). This is a new item that I'll be offering at least once a year and possible several times a year at various locations.

You'll find a new menu item: White House News
I've added some RSS/XML feeds from the U.S. Government in general, not just the White House. So, if you're interested in checking on the news, you've got a quick easy place to do that.
I'll probably add some other news and weather feeds in sections like "Locations" soon.

Just tonight I made some changes in the colors, fonts and spacing on:
Breadcrumbs - seen at the top of every sections, right under the Search/Login/Profile bar.
Section Title - seen at the top of each section beneath the Banner Ads and Announcements.
I hope this makes the site easier to read.

I've re-ordered the menus to make navigation easier and quicker. The system seems to be running better now.

Take a look at the "Locations" section and you'll find a new section called "Member Locations Map".
This Google Geomap is a new feature that's just been added to our site and this is the first implementation. I've got some other plans that I believe a lot of members are going to get really excited over.
The map has highlighted markers for members with Enhanced Galleries. These location markers include details from your gallery like links to your website and email. This is just another

It's been a little while since I've posted anything here, but that doesn't mean things haven't been happening.
One of the newest enhancements is the availability of Monthly, Weekly and Daily views for events sections. Not all sections will be changed for this feature, but keep your eyes open for the links to change views.

Exhibit Opportunities is located under "Member Services -> Kansas -> Wichita -> Exhibit Opportunities" and is a place for you to find out about places where you can display your work.
I've upgraded that section to support full HTML so that email links can be easily included in the listings. I encourage you to check this section out and see the opportunities that await you there.

Seminars has been moved to a new section. It now resides on the Photo Education section where it is joined by Photography Workshops, Photo Classes and Webinars.
This new section represents a diversification in the methods of delivering photographic education. These new offerings will a provide for a wider range of learning styles.

Although this is not a "new" feature, it is quite overlooked by our members. Listing your website on the Member Websites section will help your site get found and drive business your way. You can find the Member Websites section at Locations => "location name" => Member Websites.
Go there now and add a link to your website. The link doesn't show up until I check it for accuracy, but that will happen pretty quickly.

You'll now see text messages in the banner area of many sections. These messages will be placed whenever I have something to give you a heads-up on. In many cases these notices will contain links to get you to a specific section for details.
These notices may be posted before I have details to share with you about an item, but will be there to let you know that something is in the works. That way you'll know you should go to that section and check the box for "Notify me of new items" so yo

Over the years we've had some sponsors involved in our site who have provided various benefits for our members. You'll see Banner Ads appearing in some sections of our site for some of these sponsors.

You now have the option to have Members leave comments on the photos in your gallery. In order to do this you'll need to email me at jeff@usphotographers.com and tell me that you want that option turned on.
You will also need to edit your profile and check the appropriate box.

I've added a feed that will display "Popular Photos" on many sections. To be shown on this feed your photos MUST have a full description. Having a full description on your photos allows members to rate your photos, this is how your photos can then show up under "Popular Photos".
So be sure when you add a photo to give it a full description. If you haven't done that on photos you've already posted, you can edit those photos to add the full description (see Tutorials).

After negotiating with my web hosting company, I'm managed to cut the cost for email accounts by 30%! NOW--Members can add a webmail account to their membership for just $3.50/month or $36/year.

I've implemented a new policy. From here out, all members who participate in a Photo Excursion will receive an additional 1mb of storage so they can participate in the photo gallery for that excursion. That added quota will be revoke if they don't post images into the Photo Excursion Photo Gallery.
I'm inspired by the participation in the Lindsborg Photo Gallery for 2006 and have added galleries for previous Photo Excursions. If you were there, you should already have access to add photos

The Member Uploads Area is a place for members to share files with each other. So, if you've got a cool article or software patch to share with everyone, you can post it there.

Because the list of galleries was getting so long, I've split them up and listed them by City. The navigation to the galleries is now pretty easy and you don't have to be overwhelmed by a giant list.

A new section has been added for Tutorials. In this section I will create tutorials (in Flash presentations) to help you learn the features on the site. For the most part, these tutorials will be created based upon the most frequently asked questions.
If there's a topic that you're really struggling with, please let me know and I'll try to get a tutorial put together on it.
